Coco Channel is one of this world’s top fashion empires she changed fashion for women.Coco Channel or Gabrielle Channel was born on August 19, 1883, in Paris, France. She came from very rough beginnings her mother died of tuberculosis when she was just 10 years old and her dad put her and her 2 siblings up for adoption when she was just 12 years old. But she never stopped thinking of fashion! And her orphanage sent her to a boarding school, unfortunately, the school separated the wealthy and the charity cases like Coco. She wanted to look well sophisticated so she went to a women’s house she called her aunt and sewed all day for her graduation. But there was something wrong about the dress it wasn’t her style the dress had feathers and flair it was itchy and not comfortable like Coco’s style. Coco had many boyfriends that she would take shirts, pants, and even ties from and make them into her kind of style. One of her boyfriends was super wealthy and even gave her a small business loan to start her first shop a cute little boutique. She started by making hats, not the fancy kind with fruit that way a lot instead she made small hats with a single feather. Her hats were super popular but her clothes didn’t do so well on the market because the women never even saw pants before they only wore very heavy dresses. World War 2 came around and the women had to cut down on the dresses to support the men in the war. People liked her clothes and style she made necklaces that were inspired by the stain glass windows in a church. She made small light weight and comfortable hats and clothes. But in fashion or as Hedi Klum would quote “one day you’re in and the next day your out”. Coco wasn’t out for long she always had a new style or trend. Her clothes were never cheap though because of her tough childhood she didn’t ever want to have times in her life like that again. But she was in for a long ride she made hats, clothes, and even made a fragrance called Channel 5. She, unfortunately, died January, 10th,1971 at age 87.
