April Favorites

California in the month of April is truly beautiful, the weather is good and temperatures are rising, the ocean’s a little warmer as well, and flowers are in bloom just about everywhere! However, considering the state our world is in right now, I’ve been unable to enjoy these things to their full extent so here’s what I’ve been enjoying instead!

Books:

With the quarantine comes lots of free time to which I’ve been able to enjoy plenty of good books, The Nightingale and Daisy Jones & The Six, stood out the most to me this month and both have strong and inspiring female rolls. The Nightingale is a suspenseful story of world war II’s effects on France and two sisters’ different approaches to survive and resist the German occupation of their beloved country. The story is also considered a romance novel that paints a beautiful story, that I highly recommend reading!

Daisy Jones & The Six is a classic novel that takes place in Los Angles throughout the 1970s, it’s a classic novel about a rock ‘n’ roll band and each member gives their version of the band and why they split in an interview, it’s rumored the novel is inspired by Fleetwood Mac which makes the story even better and I would highly recommend reading for there is also many inspiring lines throughout the book.

Show: The Crown

The crown is a drama about Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s, when she first takes on the crown, to modern times. I must admit that at first it was a little slow but then it got super good and now I’m obsessed! On Netflix, there are 3 seasons, 30 episodes total, so plenty to keep you busy over self-isolation.

Fashion:

I’ve been wanting this specific skirt for so long and I finally caved, with the help of the friends and family sale, and I must say it was definitely worth the wait and very comfortable. Plus the brand Aqua is incredible and their collection with Bloomingdale’s is my favorite!
