My hometown is San Diego which is located about 2 hours from Los Angles located in Southern California (Ventura to San Diego). I’ve been to my fair share of places and as much as I love Santorini, Manhatten, and Oahu, San Diego will always have my heart. From the beaches to the shops there is always something to do in San Diego, especially eat, so here are my top spots to eat in so cal!

Food:

Lourdes Mexican Food

Lourdes is on speed dial for me, I eat there 3-4 times a week. They have a ride range of Mexican food not to mention their tortillas and caldo de pollo is to die for. If you’re ever in Cardiff you should definitely stop by (2113 San Elijo Ave, Cardiff, CA 92007) and enjoy your food there or take out and eat on one of the many beautiful beaches Cardiff has to offer.

Claire’s on Cedros

Claire’s is my go-to brunch place, they have great food and a detached coffee shop (in case you’re looking for something a little lighter). My favorite thing to order is the blueberry stuffed french toast their pancakes are pretty good too. If you are in Solana Beach come to Claires for breakfast, brunch, or lunch (246 N Cedros Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075).

Alfred’s Coffe

Alfred is a very popular coffee shop in Los Angles (where you may even see a few celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian who has been seen multiple times getting her morning coffee) and I can see why their lattes are incredible! They have locations all over Los Angles my favorite location is the one on Melrose (8428 Melrose Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90069).

VG’S Donut and Bakery

VG’S was voted one of the top donut shops in Southern California so if you are in the area (106 Aberdeen Dr, Cardiff, CA 92007) you should definitely grab a donut (my personal favorite being a maple bar), cookie, or a slice of cake. They are also really inexpensive cookies are anywhere from 75 cents to a dollar.

Handles Homemade Ice Cream & Yogurt

Handles always has a line out the door because their ice cream is just that good. They have a large variety of flavors from mint oreo to graham central station they have a flavor for everyone. If you are looking for a tasty treat come to Handles (2825 State Street, Carlsbad, CA 92008).

Duke’s Malibu

The only thing I’ve ever eaten at Duke’s is the mudpie and it is always amazing, plus its right on the water the waves even crash on the windows, it is quite the sight and I definitely recommend for a fun place to eat in Malibu (21150 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265).

Morning Glory

Morning Glory is a popping place in Little Italy, we had to wait 45 mins to be seated and an hour to get our food, but it was definitely worth it! Not only is it decorated adorably but the food was really good. We both got the souffle pancakes and they were really sweet and super fluffy! I definitely recommend going to Morning Glory especially if you’re a member of the brunch club however it is quite crowded so be prepared for the wait. (550 W Date St, San Diego, CA 92101).
